After some months of stop blogging, today I felt that I need to start it again. During this time I was busy with studying and also not much interested in photographing and writing. I passed difficult days, name it difficult because I was not in a good mood. Now I just want to stop thinking about silly things and do what ever which makes me happy and fresh like all those old days. Of course one of them is blogging!

And about today's post...You can see the inside of Imam Reza's shrine. The place that I really love not just because I believe in Islam but because of the relaxing atmosphere it has.

Since it's forbidden to take photo by camera from the inside, I took these pictures by my mobile camera so forgive me for the bad quality!

Gheimeh or Qeymeh (Persian: قیمه) is a Persian stew of which the main ingredients are cubed lamb, yellow split peas, onion and dried lime. This stew is combined with either thin French fries or eggplant and usually served with rice. The best kind of Gheimeh is cooked in Mashhad which is named Gheyme Mashhadi. I and my mom has cooked and decorated a dish of Gheymeh Mashhadi for you. Hope enjoy it!

I had some post about the way Iranian women wear Hijab on my older blog but these days it is a hot topic in Iran. THEY started to involve with women who wear tight uniform and make up or in the other words women in attractive appearance. What really make a woman attractive?! Wearing light colors, make up, visible hair, tight cloth…Right! You found the answer of your question that why most of Iranian women wear black!

As a Muslim girl, I choose to have a suitable appearance in the way my religion asks but I do not agree with something they ask Iranian Woman to do. If THEY let women to appear in their optional way, they would never make such stupid styles. A Compulsory Hijab never works!

Dolmeh is one of our traditional delicious foods. It is cooked in different flavors such as salty, sweet, and sour. But the most popular type is salty. I know that Arabs has this food in their own way of cooking. Nowadays, Dolmeh is not a very usual food in Iranian houses since this is difficult to cook and take a long time to prepare, but still is cooked in grand mamas houses. My mom tries to prepare it one or tow times in a year and this year I learned to cook it, too. It was such a different experience!

Kooh Sangi (in Persian ) or Stone Mountain (in English) is one of the most beautiful spots and is situated on the southern fringes of the city. To the front of this hillock stands a summer house with a large pool - this pool runs 100 m. in length and 60 m. in width. This pool is fed by subterranean waters (Qanat) from the Gonabad area. Running alongside are paved paths and trees which enhance the beauty of this area which are also famed as "Dalan-e-Behesht" (The corridor to Paradise).

New Building in New Shape

Mashhad is not a city with variate buildings. Although , as an architect we learn to design without any limit all the structures are in cube shape or something like that. This one is located in Sajad BLVD and as you see the composition includes a big Pyramid. The pyramid is a different style of a stair box. That's such a good subject to start the difference.

Theme Day ; Statue of Nima Yooshij

I was searching for a subject to take photo as theme day of this month that I found there are no more statues in Mashhad other than I posted on my old blog. So decided to put a photo from Tehran.

I took this one in my last trip toTehran at Mellat park. The statue of Nima Yooshij, the Persian contemporary poet.

According to Wiki Pedia :

Nimā Yooshij, (November 12, 1896 - January 6, 1960) also called Nimā, born Ali Esfandiāri, was a contemporary Tabarian and Persian poet who started the she’r-e no ("new poetry") also known as she’r-e nimaa'i ("Nimaic poetry") trend in Iran. He is considered as the father of modern Persian poetry.

He died of pneumonia in Shemiran, in the northern part of Tehran and was buried in his native village of Yush, Nur County, Mazandaran, as he had willed.

The venues in which Nima published his works are noteworthy. In the early years when the presses were controlled by the powers that be his poetry, deemed below the established norm, was not allowed publication. For this reason, many of Nima's early poems did not reach the public until the late 1930s. After the fall of Reza Shah, Nima became a member of the editorial board of the "Music" magazine. Working with Sadeq Hedayat, he published many of his poems in that magazine. Only on two occasions he published his works at his own expense: "The Pale Story" and "The Soldier's Family.

The closing of "Music" coincided with the formation of the Tudeh Party and the appearance of a number of leftist publications. Radical in nature, Nima was attracted to the new papers and published many of his groundbreaking compositions in them. The Boat is one of his famous poems.

A smile of derision breaks upon their lips

At my tumultuous words

Blood spurts out of my wound

Ash Reshteh

Sorry to say that "addiction statistic" is increasing between youths in Iran and the reasons are so clear to all. Unemployment is the most important factor.

Kooshke-e- Ahmad Shahi

Sorry for our few days absence on the photo blog. You know that we are in Nowruz holiday and it is a tradition to meet our relatives and friends during these days.

For the today’s post, I selected a photo from Tehran that I took at my previous trip. It shows you Ahmad Shah palace that is called “Kooshk-e- Ahmad Shah Qajar.

The palace is now a museum. Kooshk is a kind of Persian palace and we have some of them from Safavi and Qajar eras in Isfahan, Shiraz, Qazvin and also Tehran.

We have about an hour to finish the current year. City seems so quiet and sounds people are busy with setting “7 Sin” in their homes as we have set ours, too. It was always the most amazing part of Nowruz to me.

You may know that, The United Nations General Assembly recognized March 21 as the International Day of Nowruz. So I can say Happy Nowruz to all!

In the last hour of the year I want to close my eyes and dream. Dream of a peaceful world without any war, any poverty, and any injustice …Dream of a GREEN world…

And asking God makes my dreams True !

Our New Year is at the door and the city is so crowded. People are busy with the entire jobs they have to do in the last days of the year. They seem happy though the current year was not bright for them and it is pretty to me that I can see the life is in progress here in my city.

My dear Friends,

I am so happy that I start blogging again. As you know, the first version of “Mashhad Daily Photo” was stopped about 6 moths ago because of some reasons. During this time I was so busy with my college projects and finally I graduated last month. As well as I decided to start a new photo blog, I made here little by little though this is not still complete.

In the new version of “Mashhad Daily Photo” I m not alone and my younger brother “Behrooz” is the another author of here.

As some of you asked about the difference of the second version I should answer; yes, the new blog is a little different than the first one. In that one I just tried to show you the positive points of my city, but now you will see positive and negative together. I should note that, the blog does not have any political tendency as well as all of us knew that politic is nothing except inconvenience!

And about our first post ;

We had a competition in “Ferdowsi university of Mashhad” on Saturday in 2 field “spaghetti and wood structures”. About 90 teams were competed together that at least 30 teams was from our university (Azad university of Mashhad). We won the prize of the most beautiful wood bridge and also the first prize of the spaghetti structure.

In the photo, you can see I and Behrooz with our colleagues. All of them are the future Civil Engineers, Architects and Urban Designers…
